This is an original pottery piece created by Lyn Anderson
A small ceramic vase, its shape is rounded and compact, with a gently flared neck that gives it a classic, almost traditional silhouette. The glaze is the most striking feature: a pale, milky mix of glossy white and mat white, with delicate swirls and faint marbling that create a subtle sense of movement across the surface. Near the base, there is a tiny printed mark of the name of the piece, understated and easy to miss.
The vase has a quiet, elegant presence. It feels minimalist and refined, yet the slightly uneven organic texture change keeps it from looking too formal or clinical. The lighting is soft and diffused, which enhances the smoothness of the ceramic and leaves gentle shadows around its base, making the object feel calm and self-contained, almost sculptural in its simplicity.
The name of the piece describes what the artist was aiming for with this piece. In Latin, albus and candidus are two distinct words for white that describe different shades and textures: albus refers to a dull, matte white, while candidus refers to a shiny, bright, or radiant white.
The work was created in 2026.
The piece is 7" tall by 5" in diameter.
This Artwork is part of the "Pigment of Your Imagination" temporary Exhibit. Come see it in person during the months of April to May 2026.
