This is Photographic Print created by Brenda Garrett.

Brenda displays her still life in our gallery and she has photographed and worked with her medium in new and interesting ways.

The photograph feels cinematic: you’re looking straight up at the underbelly of an airplane wing and its large turbofan, the engine filling the lower center of the frame like a dark, mechanical eye. The polished metal surfaces catch a faint, directional light that defines panel lines, fasteners and the subtle streaks and smudges left by countless flights. The pylon that tethers the engine to the wing creates a strong diagonal, drawing the eye upward and giving the composition a sense of depth and engineered geometry.

To the right, a full moon hangs in an absolute black sky, its cratered surface rendered in clear, cold detail. The moon’s soft, ancient glow contrasts with the hard, industrial sheen of the engine — one object born of human design, the other of cosmic history. Together they form a striking visual duet of circles: the engine’s intake and the moon echo one another across very different scales.

There’s a quietness to the scene; no motion blur or airport lights, just the still, almost reverent pairing of metal and moonlight. The image communicates both the precision of aircraft engineering and the timelessness of the night sky, making the viewer aware of scale and solitude at once.
