This is an original Artwork created by Kelvin Christensen.

This work is created with Acrylic paints on paper.

A silent winter scene rendered in soft, cool tones fills the frame. A single, stout tree stands off to the left, its branches thickly coated in snow so that individual twigs blur into a frosted mass; the texture reads like powdered sugar pressed into the foliage. The foreground is a low, undulating field of snow and rounded stones or clumps, each one picked out with gentle shadows and highlights, creating a tactile, almost cushiony surface.

Beyond the tree the land slopes away in rolling hills, painted in overlapping washes of pale blue and aquamarine that recede into a misty distance. A simple wooden fence cuts diagonally across the middle distance, its posts and rails rendered in faint, understated strokes that give a sense of boundary without interrupting the scene’s hush. The sky above is a wash of very light cyan and lemon-tinged blue, suggesting cold, clear air and soft, diffused light.

The overall effect is one of calm and solitude: the cool color palette, the soft edges, and the layered translucency of the paint combine to evoke quiet snowfall or the calm after a storm. It feels like a moment suspended in time—fresh, cold, and peaceful—where sound is absorbed by the thick snow and the landscape breathes slowly under a pale winter sun.
