This is an original abstract Artwork created by Leonard Matte.
He has a write up about the story for his subject matter:
Every once in awhile Muffy and Scruffy need a time out. Chasing and wrestling on the grass can be so exhausting for any kitten.
This work is created with Acrylic paints on a Double Beveled Gallery Canvas.
The image shows a cozy, painterly scene of two cats nestled together in a bed of autumn leaves. One cat, mostly white with soft gray and tan markings, lies curled low and looks outward with bright, alert eyes. The other cat, a larger tabby with dark stripes and a white chest, is draped protectively over the first, almost like a gentle embrace. Their bodies blend into the surrounding foliage, creating a warm, intimate composition.
The background is filled with textured leaves in earthy shades of gold, brown, olive, and orange, giving the whole scene a rich seasonal feeling. The brushwork appears soft and layered, almost like a pastel or oil painting, which adds to the dreamlike, tender quality of the image. There’s a sense of stillness and closeness here, as if the pair has settled into a quiet moment of rest amid the rustling fall ground.
Leonard makes the canvases for these pictures himself, they have a double beveled angle that comes out to a point. On these pictures, he has decided to tonally change the colours on the edges slightly to make the picture have the "feel of a frame without a frame".
