The subject matter is an artists depiction of a field in the Highlands. The flowers among the field are in full and vibrant bloom. Galyna's technique when it comes to oil paint, is to apply it in thick strokes with a pallet knife (or paint knife). The use of such applicator makes it so that every stroke has definition and texture, giving the painting a three dimensional nature. Seeing just a picture of it does no justice to being able to view it in person.
