This is an original Artwork created by Kelvin Christensen.
This work is created with Acrylic paints on stretched canvas.
A small picture presents a quiet, otherworldly landscape. Across the lower third runs a row of dark, conifer silhouettes — tall, spiky evergreens that form a jagged horizon. Their edges are crisp against the lighter middle ground, and a low band of mist or pale wash seems to seep up between the trees, softening the boundary and giving a sense of depth.
Above them the sky dominates: a layered wash of iridescent colors that shift between aqua, lavender, soft pink, mint and pale gold. The paint has a pearlescent sheen and the brushwork reads as fluid, almost watercolor-like blending with subtle streaks and overlapping veils. There are faint, ghostly shapes—suggestions of distant ridges or clouds—that emerge and recede in the glazing, creating the impression of moving light, as if an aurora or luminous twilight were being observed through a thin veil of fog.
The paper texture is visible beneath the paint, adding a tactile quality; the light catches the weave and enhances the shimmering effect. Overall the piece feels calm and slightly mysterious — a nocturnal or predawn scene that balances stark, graphic foreground silhouettes with a soft, luminous, painterly sky. A small artist’s mark sits near the bottom edge, anchoring the composition and reminding you this is a hand-made study in atmosphere and color.
