These are two unique ceramic mugs with an unconventional design. Both mugs have a rustic, handmade look, a distinctive skull patterned texture covers the exterior surface. The cup has a creamy green tone for most of the outside, with the base being a more solid mossy green, the shifting tones give it a slightly antique or artisanal feel, as well as enhance the texture of the skulls.
The pattern consists of uneven positioning of the skulls, rotating them slightly so they are non uniform, adding a tactile and visual interest to the piece. The inside of the is a blue in a very deep shade, contrasting with the lighter exterior. The skull texture is not on the inside of the mug, but a quick look at the base shows that it follows on all exterior surface available.
This type of cup could be used decoratively or for drinking purposes.
The pottery is made with stoneware, and is food safe and functional.
The work was created in 2025.
The overall dimensions of the pottery are 5 1/4" tall by 3 1/4" wide.
