Artist Statement:

I have always had a desire to create; to bring things beautiful and useful into existence. As a child I painted, took art in high school, and n further schooling received a BA in fine arts. I did not specifically pursue art but rather focused on marriage and raising 3 children. My creativity took the form of making things useful for my family. In the early 2000's I was an artist in a theater for 3 years, painting huge backdrops. But mostly I have continued to create many things useful for everyday life.

I'm always in search for new ideas to create and this past year I became intrigued with tapestry weaving. When I bought a small loom and started to weave, I began to feel my art training coming back to me. I now consider myself a textile artist.
