A small, rectangular plate with gently rounded corners ; its surface is a warm, amber-brown, highly glossy and reflective. Around the perimeter a ring of lighter, leaf-shaped motifs — their serrated outlines and faint vein-like markings still visible — frames a darker, mottled central field. The leaves look like real foliage captured or reproduced: some overlap slightly, some show the subtle translucency and irregular edges you get with dried leaves. The center has more of a wood-grain or layered-resin look, a deeper green with swirling, organic patterns that contrast the paler leaf shapes and give the piece depth.
The composition — a ring of leaves enclosing a calmer middle — feels deliberate and meditative: an autumnal motif that suggests preservation, stillness, and the idea of nature set into artifice. The glossy shell both protects and distances the organic forms, turning ephemeral foliage into a durable, jewel-like keepsake.
The pottery is made with clay and is first baked with an underglaze, and then stained to give the leaf pattern it has.
