This is an original pottery piece created by Roger Neufeld.

This is a tactile, sculptural piece resembling a small plaque or tile with a naturalistic design. At the center of this piece is a prominent, raised imprint of a fern leaf. The leaf is richly textured, showing clear vein and leaflet details that invite the viewer to explore its organic form. The contrast between the dark greenish hue of the leaf and the warm, earthy brown of the background adds visual interest and highlights the natural motif.

The overall shape of the piece is slightly asymmetrical and rounded at the top, evoking a sense of rustic charm and handcrafted artistry. The color palette and subject matter suggest an homage to nature, possibly inspired by ancient or indigenous art traditions where plants symbolize growth, life, and connection to the earth.

This work could serve as a decorative object or even a symbolic talisman, celebrating the beauty and resilience of the natural world through a simple yet evocative form.

Roger made the deaf form with glaze coated string that he finely positioned and shaped to create the leaf ridges.

The piece is made with medium fired stoneware clay and burnt out organics. The piece was created in 2025.

The overall dimensions of the pottery are 4.5" tall with a 7" diameter.

This piece is part of the Natures Bounty temporary exhibit, come and see it in person through the months of October and November 2025.
