This is an original abstract Artwork created by Peter Caden.
A perfectly square canvas holds a single, intense circular motif almost dead-center. The circle is made of dozens of tight, concentric rings — each ring a slightly different shade of red, from coral and terracotta through deep burgundy, separated by fine darker lines that accentuate the banding. The rings are not machine-perfect: they show tiny irregularities in thickness and edge, giving the piece a handcrafted, tactile quality, as if layers had been wound or turned to form gentle ridges.
The background is a warm, golden-ochre with visible brush strokes that seems to radiate outward from the same center, reinforcing the focal point. Lighting is even and soft, which flattens the surface slightly but allows the subtle color shifts and the thin shadowing in the grooves to be visible. Visually it reads like a hybrid of a target, a mandala, a tree’s growth rings, and a vinyl record — orderly and rhythmic but alive with small variations that keep the eye circling inward. Overall the composition feels warm, meditative, and quietly hypnotic, grounded.
This Piece was created in 2020.
The size of the piece is 20" tall by 20" wide.
