This is an original artwork created by Larry Reese
A small, impressionistic winter landscape spreads across the canvas: a shallow stream winds from the foreground toward a stand of dark evergreens, its surface catching pale washes of sky. Snow still blankets much of the ground, but it's patchy and melting around brown and gold grasses that push up through the white. On the left a sturdy pine anchors the scene while a bare, twiggy tree with warm reddish bark leans toward the water, adding contrast and movement.
The palette is cool—ice-blue and minty greens—punctuated by soft lavender and rosy tones in the distant hills and clouds, giving the whole image a quiet, almost breath-held light. Broad, visible brushstrokes create texture in the snow and foliage, suggesting both crisp cold and the gentle thaw of early spring. Overall the painting feels peaceful and reflective, a moment of transition between seasons captured in color and gesture.
